Access approximately 1 mile west of Paonia on Hwy 133. Turn left at 2-story brick house.
Identified Problem - Habitat loss due to excavation for an existing irrigation diversion and the placement of car bodies for bank stabilization.
The Monitor Ditch will need a permanent, ecologically friendly diversion structure and the car bodies need to be removed and replaced with a combination of boulders and bioengineering techniques.
Approximately 2 acres have been restored.
